Through The Looking Glass

Through The Looking Glass
by Lewis Carroll

This book was about Alice going back to wonderland and more adventures she has there. Like the first one she is just dreaming. I thought it was a lot more funny than the first one. One of the funny parts was when Alice bought a egg but the egg was no ordinary egg in transformed into Humpty Dumpty. Alice also ran into Twedeldee and Twedeldum.

One thing I liked and I thought was funny was when she was mad at the Red Queen and she picked her up and said " I will shake you into a Kitten." And then she woke up shaking her cat Dinah. It was funny when Humpty Dumpty was talking and he said " What do you get when you take 1 away from 365." Alice answered " 364 of course" and Humnpty Dumpty said '" I would rather see that on paper.

Some of the things i didn't like was that the author didn't explain things very well. i didn't like that the author didn't mention wonderland very much in this book. Those are really the only things i didn't like.

The author Lewis Carrol did what Mark Twain did he changed his name. His actual name is... Charles Lutwidge Dodgson. ( I totally understand why he changed it) The elder of the three sons Charles went to rugby school, and then to Christ church, Oxford. He was mathematically gifted and won double first degree, which could have been a prelude to a brilliant academic career. Instead he his first cousin in 1827 and became a country parson.

Alice In Wonderland

Alice In Wonderland
by Lewis Carroll
You can download the book for free right here from Project Gutenberg.

Note: There are Spoilers in this post!

This book is about Alice the main character falling down a rabbit hole and going to the land beneath the rabbit hole called Wonderland. It is about the characters she meets and a lawsuit. (my favorite character is The Mad Hatter) It is also about the queen called The Red Queen.

I thought it was funny when The Red Queen said OFF with her head or of with his head a lot. Whenever She was in a argument with someone else she would say off with his/her head when she was losing the argument. I also liked the name of Alices' cat name Dinah. When I first read it I thought it was someone with a accent talking about dinner. hahaha.

One of the things i did not like about the book is that the author didn't explain the stuff he was talking about very well like they had a funny thing where they had four queens and four kings with the body of a card and one had different suit. The author didn't say which suit the he talking about he just said King and queen. On the cover are cards coming at Alice. They are the Kings and Queens.
